Tesamorelin is a synthetic 44-amino-acid peptide with the full sequence of human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH 1-44) and a C-terminal amide. It carries a trans-3-hexenoyl group on the N-terminal tyrosine, which is its only structural difference from native GHRH. That N-terminal acyl group was introduced to slow enzymatic cleavage at the N-terminus.

What has been studied, and in what systems.
Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of human GHRH that keeps the full 44-residue native sequence and adds a trans-3-hexenoyl group to the N-terminus. Its target is the GHRH receptor, a class B G protein-coupled receptor whose structure and coupling to Gs and cAMP signaling have been reviewed in detail (Petersenn and Schulte, 2000).
The compound, originally coded TH9507, was characterised in a published non-clinical pharmacology and safety evaluation using in vitro systems and animal models (Ferdinandi et al., 2007).
A cryo-electron microscopy structure of GHRH bound to its receptor and Gs later showed how the N-terminal region of the peptide enters the receptor core, which is the region modified in tesamorelin (Zhou et al., 2020). These studies place tesamorelin in receptor pharmacology and peptide analogue research.
These are published research systems. They do not describe approved clinical applications, and they do not establish efficacy or safety in humans.

About this compound and its batch data.
What is tesamorelin?
Tesamorelin is a synthetic 44-amino-acid analogue of human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) with a trans-3-hexenoyl group on its N-terminus and a C-terminal amide. Its molecular formula is C221H366N72O67S, its molecular weight is about 5135.9 g/mol and its CAS number is 218949-48-5. Tesamorelin Pro is supplied as a lyophilized powder in a 10 mg vial. Sold for research use only.
What has tesamorelin been examined for in published research?
Under its development code TH9507, tesamorelin was characterised in a published non-clinical pharmacology and safety evaluation using in vitro systems and animal models (Ferdinandi et al., 2007, PMID 17214611). Its target, the GHRH receptor, has been resolved by cryo-electron microscopy (Zhou et al., 2020, PMID 33060564). This work was pre-clinical. Astramide makes no claim about outcomes in humans.
What purity does the current Tesamorelin Pro lot reach?
Lot nhs-tsm-20260817-08 returned 99% chromatographic purity by HPLC at 220 nm, reported by pH Solutions Lab on 29 September 2026 under certificate 260825-899-NHS-2. Identity was confirmed as a match to tesamorelin (C221H366N72O67S, 5135.9 g/mol). The lot meets the Pro Series release criterion of at or above 99% HPLC purity. The full certificate is published on this page.
How much tesamorelin is in the vial?
The label claim is 10 mg per vial. For lot nhs-tsm-20260817-08, the laboratory measured 9.9188 mg of tesamorelin, which is 99.188% of the 10 mg label claim. Astramide publishes the measured figure exactly as the laboratory reports it, above or below the label. Net content and chromatographic purity are separate measurements.
How should tesamorelin be stored for research use?
Lyophilized tesamorelin is stored at -20°C and protected from light. Once reconstituted, the solution is held at 2 to 8°C and used within 14 to 30 days. Repeated temperature cycling and exposure to moisture should be avoided, because both can affect peptide stability and the comparability of experimental results.
How is tesamorelin different from sermorelin?
Both are synthetic peptides based on human GHRH and both act at the GHRH receptor. Sermorelin contains only residues 1 to 29 of GHRH with no added group. Tesamorelin keeps the full 44-residue sequence and adds a trans-3-hexenoyl group to the N-terminus, which was introduced to slow enzymatic cleavage (Ferdinandi et al., 2007, PMID 17214611).
How is Astramide's Tesamorelin Pro tested?
Lot nhs-tsm-20260817-08 was tested by pH Solutions Lab, an independent ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory (A2LA R243, PJLA Testing #84351). The certificate reports identity, chromatographic purity at 220 nm, net content, water content, pH, water activity, a 10-organism microbial panel, heavy metals, residual solvents, sterility and mycotoxins. Results apply only to this lot.
What is the difference between Tesamorelin and Tesamorelin Pro?
Tesamorelin Pro is part of the Astramide Pro Series. It is American-made, synthesized in the USA, and moves by domestic ground and air only, with no ocean freight. It is released under its own lot, and only when HPLC purity measures at or above 99%. The full certificate for each lot is published on this page. The standard Tesamorelin is released under separate lots with separate certificates.
