KPV is a linear tripeptide of L-lysine, L-proline and L-valine. It corresponds to residues 11 to 13 at the C-terminus of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH), a 13-amino-acid peptide derived from proopiomelanocortin. KPV is supplied as the free acid (C16H30N4O4), while the parent alpha-MSH sequence ends in a C-terminal amide.

What has been studied, and in what systems.
KPV is the C-terminal Lys-Pro-Val tripeptide of alpha-MSH. Reviews of alpha-MSH biology have described KPV as a fragment that has been studied separately from the full hormone because it lacks the parent peptide's pigmentary activity (Brzoska et al., 2008).
In intestinal epithelial and immune cell lines, KPV has been shown to enter cells through the PepT1 di- and tripeptide transporter. Studies have then examined changes in NF-κB and MAP kinase activation and in pro-inflammatory cytokine expression (Dalmasso et al., 2008).
In mouse models, KPV has been examined in two forms of experimentally induced intestinal inflammation. Effects were also observed in mice lacking functional MC1R signaling, which suggests that its activity in these models is not explained by classical melanocortin receptor agonism alone (Kannengiesser et al., 2008).
These are published research systems. They do not describe approved clinical applications, and they do not establish efficacy or safety in humans.

About this compound and its batch data.
What is KPV?
KPV is a linear tripeptide of lysine, proline and valine (Lys-Pro-Val), corresponding to residues 11 to 13 at the C-terminus of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. Its molecular formula is C16H30N4O4, its molecular weight is about 342.44 g/mol and its CAS number is 67727-97-3. KPV Pro is supplied as a lyophilized powder in a 10 mg vial. Sold for research use only.
What has KPV been examined for in published research?
Published studies have examined KPV uptake through the PepT1 peptide transporter in intestinal epithelial and immune cell lines, and its effects on NF-κB and MAP kinase signaling (Dalmasso et al., 2008, PMID 18061177). Mouse-model studies have examined KPV in experimentally induced intestinal inflammation (Kannengiesser et al., 2008, PMID 18092346). This work was pre-clinical. Astramide makes no claim about outcomes in humans.
What purity does the current KPV Pro lot reach?
Lot NHS-KPV10-20260812-01 returned 99% chromatographic purity by HPLC at 274 nm, reported by pH Solutions Lab on 29 September 2026 under certificate 260923-899-NHS-18. Identity was confirmed as a match to KPV. The lot meets the Pro Series release criterion of at or above 99% HPLC purity. The full certificate is published on this page.
How much KPV is in the vial?
The label claim is 10 mg per vial. For lot NHS-KPV10-20260812-01, the laboratory measured 10.0007 mg of KPV, reported as 100.0% recovery against the 10 mg label claim. Astramide publishes the measured figure exactly as the laboratory reports it. Net content and chromatographic purity are separate measurements and answer different questions.
How should KPV be stored for research use?
Lyophilized KPV is stored at -20°C and protected from light. Once reconstituted, the solution is held at 2 to 8°C and used within 14 to 30 days. Repeated temperature cycling and exposure to moisture should be avoided, because both can affect peptide stability and the comparability of experimental results.
Is KPV Pro the same as the KLOW blend?
No. KLOW is a separate product that combines KPV with BPC-157, GHK-Cu and TB-500 in one vial. KPV Pro contains KPV alone. Each product carries its own lot number and its own Certificate of Analysis. A certificate for one product never applies to another, and a blend is tested as a blend.
How is Astramide's KPV Pro tested?
Lot NHS-KPV10-20260812-01 was tested by pH Solutions Lab, an independent ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory (A2LA R243, PJLA Testing #84351). The certificate reports identity, chromatographic purity at 274 nm, net content, water content, pH, water activity, a 10-organism microbial panel, heavy metals, residual solvents, sterility and mycotoxins. Results apply only to this lot.
What is the difference between KPV and KPV Pro?
KPV Pro is part of the Astramide Pro Series. It is American-made, synthesized in the USA, and moves by domestic ground and air only, with no ocean freight. It is released under its own lot, and only when HPLC purity measures at or above 99%. The full certificate for each lot is published on this page. The standard KPV is released under separate lots with separate certificates.
