DSIP is a linear nine-amino-acid peptide, Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu (WAGGDASGE), with a free N-terminus and a free C-terminal carboxylic acid. It was isolated in the 1970s from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits, and its sequence was determined and confirmed by synthesis. It is glycine-rich, and its only aromatic residue is the N-terminal tryptophan.

What has been studied, and in what systems.
DSIP was isolated from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits in the 1970s, and its nine-amino-acid sequence was determined and confirmed by chemical synthesis (Schoenenberger et al., 1978).
Later studies in rat pineal gland preparations examined how DSIP modulates stimulation of the enzyme N-acetyltransferase, and found that the effect involved the alpha-1 adrenergic receptor (Graf and Schoenenberger, 1987).
Despite decades of work, no specific receptor or precursor gene for DSIP has been identified, and a review has described it as a still unresolved riddle (Kovalzon and Strekalova, 2006). These studies place DSIP in neuropeptide and neuroendocrine research.
These are published research systems. They do not describe approved clinical applications, and they do not establish efficacy or safety in humans.

About this compound and its batch data.
What is DSIP peptide?
DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide) is a linear nine-amino-acid neuropeptide, Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu (WAGGDASGE). Its formula is C35H48N10O15, its molecular weight is about 848.8 g/mol and its CAS number is 62568-57-4. DSIP Pro is supplied as a lyophilized powder in a 5 mg vial. Sold for research use only.
What has DSIP been examined for in published research?
DSIP was isolated from rabbit cerebral venous blood, and its sequence was confirmed by synthesis (Schoenenberger et al., 1978, PMID 568769). Later work examined its effects on pineal N-acetyltransferase activity in rat tissue (Graf and Schoenenberger, 1987, PMID 3029331). A review describes its mechanism as still unresolved (Kovalzon and Strekalova, 2006, PMID 16539679). Astramide makes no claim about outcomes in humans.
Does DSIP have a known receptor?
No. Despite decades of research, no specific receptor or precursor gene has been identified for DSIP, and a 2006 review described it as a still unresolved riddle (Kovalzon and Strekalova, 2006, PMID 16539679). Some studies have linked its effects in pineal tissue to the alpha-1 adrenergic receptor, but that is not a dedicated DSIP receptor.
What purity does the current DSIP Pro lot reach?
Lot NHS-DIS05-20260913-01 returned 99% chromatographic purity by HPLC at 220 nm, reported by pH Solutions Lab on 29 September 2026 under certificate 260918-899-NHS-2. Identity was confirmed as a match to DSIP (C35H48N10O15, 848.8 g/mol). The lot meets the Pro Series release criterion of at or above 99% HPLC purity. The full certificate is published on this page.
How much DSIP is in the vial?
The label claim is 5 mg per vial. For lot NHS-DIS05-20260913-01, the laboratory measured 4.9574 mg of DSIP, which is 99.148% of the label claim. Astramide publishes the measured figure exactly as the laboratory reports it, above or below the label. Net content and chromatographic purity are separate measurements.
How should DSIP be stored for research use?
Lyophilized DSIP is stored at -20°C and protected from light. Once reconstituted, the solution is held at 2 to 8°C and used within 14 to 30 days. Repeated temperature cycling and exposure to moisture should be avoided, because both can affect peptide stability and the comparability of experimental results.
How is Astramide's DSIP Pro tested?
Lot NHS-DIS05-20260913-01 was tested by pH Solutions Lab, an independent ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory (A2LA R243, PJLA Testing #84351). The certificate reports identity, chromatographic purity at 220 nm, net content, water content, pH, water activity, a 10-organism microbial panel, heavy metals, residual solvents, sterility and mycotoxins. Results apply only to this lot.
What does Pro Series mean for DSIP Pro?
DSIP Pro is part of the Astramide Pro Series. It is American-made, synthesized in the USA, and moves by domestic ground and air only, with no ocean freight. It is released under its own lot, and only when HPLC purity measures at or above 99%. The full certificate for each lot is published on this page.
