Sermorelin is a synthetic linear peptide of 29 amino acids with a C-terminal amide. Its sequence matches residues 1 to 29 of human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), a 44-amino-acid hypothalamic peptide. The 1-29 region has been studied as the shortest GHRH sequence that retains full receptor activity in structure-function work.

What has been studied, and in what systems.
Sermorelin corresponds to the first 29 amino acids of human GHRH, with the C-terminal amide retained. Binding studies in rat adenopituitary membranes compared GHRH(1-29)NH2 with a series of analogues to map which residues govern affinity for GHRH binding sites (Gaudreau et al., 1992).
The GHRH receptor was cloned in 1992 and shown to be a pituitary-specific G protein-coupled receptor that raised intracellular cAMP when activated by GHRH in transfected cells (Mayo, 1992).
More recently, a cryo-electron microscopy structure of GHRH bound to its receptor and the Gs protein described how the N-terminal region of the peptide sits in the receptor binding pocket (Zhou et al., 2020). These studies place sermorelin in receptor pharmacology and structure-function research.
These are published research systems. They do not describe approved clinical applications, and they do not establish efficacy or safety in humans.

About this compound and its batch data.
What is sermorelin peptide?
Sermorelin is a synthetic 29-amino-acid peptide matching residues 1 to 29 of human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), with a C-terminal amide. Its molecular formula is C149H246N44O42S, its molecular weight is about 3357.9 g/mol and its CAS number is 86168-78-7. Sermorelin Pro is supplied as a lyophilized powder in a 10 mg vial. Sold for research use only.
What has sermorelin been examined for in published research?
Published studies have used GHRH(1-29)NH2 and its analogues to map binding at GHRH receptor sites in rat anterior pituitary membranes (Gaudreau et al., 1992, PMID 1534126), and to study activation of the cloned GHRH receptor and cAMP signaling (Mayo, 1992, PMID 1333056). This work was pre-clinical. Astramide makes no claim about outcomes in humans.
What purity does the current Sermorelin Pro lot reach?
Lot PLB-SER-20260712-01 returned 99% chromatographic purity by HPLC at 274 nm, reported by pH Solutions Lab on 5 September 2026 under certificate PLB-COA-SER-20260712-01. Identity is supported by HPLC retention-time match to a certified reference standard; this certificate does not include mass spectrometry. The full certificate is published on this page.
How much sermorelin is in the vial?
The label claim is 10 mg per vial, and the certificate lists a target fill of 10.00 mg per vial. A measured net content result was not reported on this certificate for lot PLB-SER-20260712-01, and the page shows that row as not reported rather than estimating a figure.
How should sermorelin be stored for research use?
Lyophilized sermorelin is stored at -20°C and protected from light. Once reconstituted, the solution is held at 2 to 8°C and used within 14 to 30 days. Repeated temperature cycling and exposure to moisture should be avoided, because both can affect peptide stability and the comparability of experimental results.
What is the difference between sermorelin and GHRH?
Native human GHRH is a 44-amino-acid peptide. Sermorelin contains only residues 1 to 29, with a C-terminal amide, which structure-function studies identified as the region that retains receptor binding and activation (Gaudreau et al., 1992, PMID 1534126). Both act at the same receptor, GHRHR, a class B G protein-coupled receptor (Zhou et al., 2020, PMID 33060564).
How is Astramide's Sermorelin Pro tested?
Lot PLB-SER-20260712-01 was tested by pH Solutions Lab, an independent ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory (PJLA #84351). The certificate reports chromatographic purity by HPLC at 274 nm, a qPCR microbial panel of six organisms (all not detected) and water activity of 0.46 aw against a limit of 0.65 aw. Results apply only to this lot.
What does Pro Series mean for Sermorelin Pro?
Sermorelin Pro is part of the Astramide Pro Series. It is American-made, synthesized in the USA, and moves by domestic ground and air only, with no ocean freight. It is released under its own lot, and only when HPLC purity measures at or above 99%. The full certificate for each lot is published on this page.
