NAD+ is a dinucleotide, not a peptide. It consists of nicotinamide mononucleotide and adenosine monophosphate joined through a pyrophosphate bridge. In cells it cycles between the oxidized form (NAD+) and the reduced form (NADH), and it is also consumed as a substrate by enzymes that transfer its ADP-ribose group.

What has been studied, and in what systems.
NAD+ acts in two distinct ways in experimental systems: as a redox cofactor that cycles between NAD+ and NADH, and as a substrate that enzymes consume. Studies of the yeast protein Sir2 showed that it is an NAD-dependent histone deacetylase, which linked NAD+ availability to enzymatic gene silencing (Imai et al., 2000).
Later work showed that the NAD+ salvage pathway is regulated by the CLOCK-SIRT1 circadian machinery in cell and mouse models (Nakahata et al., 2009).
Reviews have described how NAD+ is distributed between mitochondrial and nuclear pools and how consuming enzymes such as sirtuins, PARPs and CD38 compete for it (Cantó et al., 2015). These studies place NAD+ in enzymology and redox biology research.
These are published research systems. They do not describe approved clinical applications, and they do not establish efficacy or safety in humans.

About this compound and its batch data.
What is NAD+?
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is an endogenous coenzyme made of nicotinamide mononucleotide and adenosine monophosphate joined by a pyrophosphate bridge. Its formula is C21H27N7O14P2, its molecular weight is about 663.4 g/mol and its CAS number is 53-84-9. NAD+ Pro is supplied as a lyophilized powder in 500 mg and 1000 mg vials. Sold for research use only.
What has NAD+ been examined for in published research?
NAD+ has been studied as a redox cofactor for dehydrogenase enzymes and as a substrate consumed by sirtuins, PARPs and CD38. Studies showed that the yeast protein Sir2 is an NAD-dependent deacetylase (Imai et al., 2000, PMID 10693811), and that the NAD+ salvage pathway is under circadian control (Nakahata et al., 2009, PMID 19286518). Astramide makes no claim about outcomes in humans.
What purity do the current NAD+ Pro lots reach?
Both lots returned 99% chromatographic purity by HPLC at 254 nm, reported by pH Solutions Lab on 29 September 2026. The 500 mg lot is NHS-NAD500-20260903-01 (certificate 260917-899-NHS-3) and the 1000 mg lot is NHS-NAD1000-20260823-01 (certificate 260902-899-NHS-3). Identity was confirmed for both. The full certificates are published on this page.
How much NAD+ is in each vial size?
Each vial size has its own lot and certificate. The 500 mg lot measured 509.305 mg per vial, which is 101.861% of the label claim. The 1000 mg lot measured 997.76 mg per vial, which is 99.776% of the label claim. Astramide publishes each measured figure exactly as the laboratory reports it, above or below the label.
How should NAD+ be stored for research use?
Lyophilized NAD+ is stored at -20°C and protected from light and moisture. Once reconstituted, the solution is held at 2 to 8°C and used promptly, because NAD+ in solution degrades faster than the dry powder. Repeated temperature cycling should be avoided, because it can affect stability and the comparability of experimental results.
Is NAD+ a peptide?
No. NAD+ is a dinucleotide coenzyme, not a peptide, and it has no amino acid sequence. It is made of two nucleotides, nicotinamide mononucleotide and adenosine monophosphate, linked through their phosphate groups. Astramide lists it alongside research peptides because it is used in related cellular and enzymology research.
How is Astramide's NAD+ Pro tested?
Both lots were tested by pH Solutions Lab, an independent ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory (A2LA R243, PJLA Testing #84351). Each certificate reports identity, chromatographic purity at 254 nm, net content, water content, pH, water activity, a 10-organism microbial panel, heavy metals, residual solvents, sterility and mycotoxins. Results apply only to the lot tested.
What is the difference between NAD+ and NAD+ Pro?
NAD+ Pro is part of the Astramide Pro Series. It is American-made, synthesized in the USA, and moves by domestic ground and air only, with no ocean freight. Each vial size is released under its own lot, and only when HPLC purity measures at or above 99%. The full certificate for each lot is published on this page. The standard NAD+ is released under separate lots with separate certificates.
